Ranking
changes.
A rank changes only after measurable evidence clears the published movement standard. Every revision includes a stated reason, observation date, and supporting sources.
Every position reviewed
The position review covers all 11 boards and 300 artists. Each position now has a record connecting eligibility, catalog references, audience dates and editorial coverage.

CUTDWN and yetep are withdrawn under the U.S.-birth rule. Their biographies identify Manchester and Seoul birthplaces respectively. SOHMI remains eligible based on her documented New Jersey birthplace.

Audience observations retain their actual capture dates. The short-window momentum calculation is a historical diagnostic, separate from the power-ranking order.

Momentum is a signal.
This archived calculation covers 189 artists during 2026-09-06–2026-09-08. The power-ranking boards retain their editorial order. This diagnostic compares short-term audience change and recent credit activity; it does not assign power-ranking placements.
Percent change in Spotify monthly listeners across closely matched captures, using the conservative lower bound of rounded displays.
Absolute listener change over the same window. Growth and gain use percentile standing among all qualifying artists, balancing proportional traction with scale.
Five points per distinct qualifying label release, collaboration or named remix in 90 days, capped at four works. Remix packages do not establish direct collaborations.
No neutral 50, midpoint uplift, or missing-weight redistribution. Complete audience pairs and a fresh identity-matched catalog are required.
Window, calculation and limits
Captures: 2026-09-06 to 2026-09-08, 47–51 hours apart per artist. Growth floor = 100 × (new audience lower bound / old audience upper bound − 1). Net gain floor = new lower bound − old upper bound. Both are converted to tie-adjusted percentiles in the same 189-artist cohort. Final score = 0.50 × growth percentile + 0.30 × gain percentile + 5 × min(qualifying works, 4), rounded once to one decimal place before ranking.
A negative change can still score above another artist’s larger decline. Rounded displays can obscure small changes; a score is an exact application of this published rule to recorded evidence, not an exact measurement of popularity. The window measures short-term momentum, not sustained hype. No annualized or forecast growth is used.
Catalogs must have been captured within 30 days, and audience observations within seven days of calculation. Zero credit points means zero qualifying works documented in that captured catalog. It does not prove the artist released nothing. Recognition uses the disclosed imprint and collaborator reference maintained with the source data.
Observed worldwide Spotify audience change over matched 47–51 hour captures, plus documented recognized release credits in 90 days. A short-window hype proxy, not overall popularity, U.S. ticket demand or artistic skill. The tracked roster and provisional birthplace eligibility remain separate from score calculation. Power-ranking placements are editorial judgments, separate from this short-term diagnostic.

Editorial power-ranking methodology
Editorial
movement standard.
EDM30 measures live demand, current releases, audience growth, social velocity, platform reach, charts, DJ adoption, press, accolades, collaborations, and industry leverage. The weights below describe the editorial rubric. They are not evidence that a measured composite score has been calculated for each artist.
A change requires fresh artist-owned evidence, independent corroboration, and a material shift in at least two weighted categories—or a confirmed eligibility failure.
Legacy editorial rubric.
Reach establishes scale. Velocity shows direction. The model rewards documented acceleration in U.S. audience, demand, and influence while limiting the effect of legacy catalogue size.
What the ranking can prove.
Birthplace is a separate fact
A U.S. home base, nationality tag or group formation location does not prove U.S. birth. Groups require member-level evidence. Unknown eligibility remains under review.
Missing is not zero
Missing social or streaming data cannot demote an artist. It also cannot prove an incumbent deserves to stay above a challenger. Incomplete positions remain provisional.
Momentum needs history
A large audience is reach, not growth. Comparisons require matching metrics, dated baselines and consistent windows. Profile URLs and release counts do not establish demand.
Scope stays honest
This is a tracked roster, not a census of every U.S.-born DJ. The power-ranking edition preserves the reviewed roster and editorial order. Short-window measurements do not establish overall market leadership.
